Derick Turner, Managing Director

Derick has worked for over 15 years in the IT industry with 12 years in a consultancy role. Specialising in Unix administration he has worked for a number of large blue chip companies from the service industry to investment banking. He has a BSC in Electronic Systems and Microcomputer Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology. He is also RHCE certified.

Dr. Deneka MacDonald, (Co-Director) Educational Consultant and Instructional Design

Deneka is a Canadian, currently living and working in the UK. She moved to Scotland 9 years ago to embark on her PhD in Literature and fell in love with the country. She has 15 years experience in distance and e-learning course delivery, is well researched and published in the area, and has been working with Moodle extensively for six years. Deneka is passionate about the pedagogy of online learning and believes strongly in socially constructive learning design. She is an advocate for open source solutions and for creating communities and spaces online that engage both learners and teachers. Deneka also enjoys a position as Associate Lecturer for the Open University where she teaches on 'Innovations in E-Learning' as part of the Masters Programme in Distance and Online Learning.

Howard Miller, Lead Developer

Howard is a Core Moodle developer who has expertise in all aspects of the Moodle software.  Howard is a very active member of the Moodle.org discussion forums where he regularly provides support and help to users world wide (which has led to him getting asked for autographs at Moodlemoots in Europe on occasion!:-))  He has worked for over 23 years in the IT industry in diverse roles including embedded systems development, support, system administration and as senior management in the marketing industry. He has spent a number of years working as a freelance consultant and working in Higher Education.

Claire McIver, Business Development Manager

An experienced Business Development Manager, Claire is a strong, professional team player.  Having worked in a wide range of industries, she prides herself on providing quality customer service and building strong business relationships.  Claire is entirely customer-focussed and is dedicated to ensuring that each and every client receives a first-class
service every step of the way.  She leaves the technical stuff to the technical guys!
